- Profile designed to improve rope sliding and resistance to wear and tear
Product information "OBX SGL"
The OBX SGL is an oval, hot-forged aluminum carabiner with a screw lock and an integrated ACL system featuring a captive bar, designed for industrial applications and professional access at height. Its oval shape promotes even load distribution, optimal positioning of connected rope systems, and smooth rope handling.
The Captive Bar keeps lanyards within a defined area of the carabiner, reducing unintended twisting and the risk of cross-loading. The screw-lock mechanism allows for controlled locking. The ergonomically curved back facilitates operation, while the Key-Lock system with Catch-Free closure ensures snag-free clipping and unclipping.
Reinforced contact surfaces improve rope glide and reduce high-wear stress points during daily use. With a breaking load of 24 kN, a gate opening of 22 mm, and a weight of just 80 g, the OBX SGL combines high load-bearing capacity with comfortable handling.
Your Benefits at a Glance
The OBX SGL combines reliable positioning, ergonomic handling, and high wear resistance in an oval carabiner made of hot-forged lightweight metal. With its screw-lock mechanism and integrated ACL system with captive bar, it was specifically designed for industrial applications and use under demanding conditions.
Reliable alignment and reduced cross-loading:
During demanding rope maneuvers, the correct alignment of the carabiner is crucial. The integrated ACL system with captive bar keeps connected lanyards within a defined area of the carabiner, thereby reducing unintended twisting and the risk of lateral loading. The oval geometry with a generous cross-section further supports even load distribution and the optimal positioning of connected devices and ropes. This keeps the connection clear and controllable even with complex rope setups.
Controlled handling and easy clipping in and out:
The manually operated screw lock allows for precise locking of the carabiner. The ergonomically curved back facilitates opening the gate and ensures comfortable handling, even under demanding working conditions. The Key-Lock system with Catch-Free closure features an uninterrupted geometry between the carabiner nose and the interior. This allows ropes, lanyards, and equipment to be easily clipped in and out without getting caught on the carabiner nose. This simplifies recurring connection procedures and supports efficient workflows.
High wear resistance during intensive use:
The contact areas of a carabiner are subjected to heavy stress, especially during regular rope use. The OBX SGL therefore features reinforced contact areas with a larger cross-section, which improve rope glide and reduce wear. The hot-forged lightweight metal construction combines high strength with low weight and ensures long-lasting use. This makes the OBX SGL suitable for demanding applications that require a sturdy connection, smooth rope handling, and reliable performance.
